St. Joseph's Catholic Church Creche Display
WORLD FAMOUS
Located at the St. Joseph Catholic Church is a unique Nativity Scene that has a cast of hundreds of figurines. The display which includes theatrical lighting began twenty-five years ago. Made in France, the clay or santon (little Saints) figures range in size from two to twelve inches and have movable hands and feet, and wear cloth clothing. Each santon is walking or facing the manger to give baby Jesus a gift.
The St. Joseph santon Crèche display is considered to be the largest in United States and the fifth largest display in the world. The display is presented by Father John LaCasse.
Thousands of visitors have viewed the spectacular Crèche display, returning year after year to share the experience with family and friends.
Visitation is free and open throughout the weekend and the Christmas season.
